Obituary for Andrew Dee Jones

1990 - 2017

On December 28, 2017, just three days shy of his 27th birthday, Andrew Dee Jones passed away at home surrounded by his loving family to the arms of many family members awaiting his arrival. He stood up and walked into heaven leaving behind his frail body. Andrew was born December 31, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jim and Colleen Jones. He was born a perfect spirit in a not so perfect body. Even though he dealt with many physical limitations his whole life, Andrew has brought out the best in everyone he was with and taught us more than we could teach him.

Andrew attended many schools in the Davis School District and made many friends. His family is very grateful for the many administrators, teachers, interveners, aides, bus drivers, peer tutors and friends who faithfully served him and attended to his needs. Thank you to Primary Children’s Medical Center and Rainbow Kids, who introduced the family to A Caring Hand Home Care. They came in when the family needed them most. A special thanks to Michelle.

The Jones family are also grateful for Rocky Mountain Hospice and their faithful service for Andrew throughout the year and especially these past four months. Thank you, Sonja, Brook and Kayla. The family has been blessed by the many people whom they have come to know through Andrew. Many doctors, nurses, phlebotomist, etc. The Jones Family will be forever blessed by the close relationships and dear friendships that have become so much a part of our lives.

On Angel’s wings, Andrew has “Returned with Honor”, to the embrace of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He now stands tall, without the encumbrance of his frail body. He loved the music of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, and the Piano Guys.
He leaves behind his loving mother and caregiver, Colleen, and father Jim. He is survived by sisters; Amy (John) Boom, Viviane (Kendell) Davis, and Amanda (Ty) Miller; brothers, A.J. and Ammon; nephew, Liam (Davis); and niece, Alyssa (Davis); “his special little caregiver.” Andrew is also survived by his Grandmother, Amy McMullin Jones along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was especially greeted in heaven by his Grandparents, O. John Jones, Dee L. & Diane L. Strong, and four cousins, Theodore, Shonee, Ty and Taya.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at the LDS Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street in Bountiful.
