Obituary for Brent Garth Udy

With unimaginable heart break, agony, and devastation we inform you that Brent Garth Udy (45) passed away on the morning of Tuesday June 5, 2018.
Brent was born May 6, 1973 to Garth Lyle and Cathy (Fisher) Udy in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up as the middle child with one older sister and one younger brother in West Valley City, Utah.
Two of Brent's greatest blessings in his life were given to him when his twins were born on November 2, 1990. His life immediately became all about his family the moment he received the gift of fatherhood. Despite being only 17 years old he worked up to 3 jobs at once and did whatever it took to provide for his family. This didn't stop when he received yet another great blessing, a baby boy, 25 years later on December 5, 2015. Brent was an incredible father and strived to be the best example and teacher possible.
He was one of the hardest workers you could ever meet; always sacrificing himself to provide everything his family needed. The value of hard work was one he bestowed upon his children and modeled for all he knew through his actions. Being "the hardest worker we know" is a trademark of who Brent was to everyone that knew him. He kept true to that through all types of hardships and trials that he encountered in his life.
On June 4, 2000 he went on a first date with the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin for the rest of his days. He loved her from the first time he met her, and knew she was the one. Brent married Amber English, his rock, his best friend, his person on September 6, 2003.
June 20, 2013 his first granddaughter was born and she lit up his world. This love and light doubled when his second granddaughter was born on December 14, 2014. Brent fiercely and whole heartedly loved his grandbabies. They were his little princesses and brought a sparkle to his eyes and immense joy to his heart. He was the most loving, kind, funny, thoughtful Grandfather that those girls could have ever hoped for.
Brent was a man you couldn't help but love from the moment you met him. He was so funny and full of life. He loved to talk and tell stories about his family; especially about how proud he was of them all. He was kind and beyond selfless, he would have given the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it. He was always there to lend an ear and listen, he was a best friend and confidant to many. He gave thoughtful and loving advice. He was never one to shy away from taking the hard road if it meant doing the right thing. He held himself to a very high standard and lived his life with his own set of remarkably upstanding ethics. His moral compass was always pointed in the right direction. He was honest and open, and he always found a way to see the bright side in every single situation. He was proud and courageous, facing everything head on and never running from life. Brent was the strongest man many of us ever knew. He was a core part of life for his close family members. He was one of a kind, special and rare; you will never meet another like him.
Brent is survived by his parents; brother Danny (Bridget) Udy, sister Jamie (Michael) Tureson; beloved children Tesha Udy, Tyson Udy, and Maddox Udy; treasured granddaughters Kadence and Camryn; his “person”, his soft place to fall, his eternal love Amber English-Udy. Rock on Baby, we love you!
He will be missed beyond what words could possibly express, and what any of us can even fathom at this point. We want everyone to know that if you are hurting, it is okay to ask for help. While there is breath left in your body there is still hope.
