Obituary for Craig Thomas Schmidt

On Saturday night, 05/12/18 a loving man left this earth suddenly and unexpectedly. Craig Thomas Schmidt was born and raised here in Salt Lake City, and has always been a fun-loving, kind and hilarious person. He was a loving father, and his daughter was the light of his life. They could always be found every weekend playing songs together and having one of our punk-rock dance parties. Craig loved to play games, watch football, and relax with family and friends. After serving briefly in the U.S. Army, he met his wife on a blind date, and it was love at first sight. They were together for almost 8 years, and were married on Sherwood Beach in Waimanalo, Hawaii on January 17, 2017.

He is survived by his daughter Sophia, wife Dayna, father George, and brothers Todd, Jim, and Joseph and sisters Allison and Lisa. He is preceded in death by his mother Nancy and oldest brother Jeffrey.

The family would like to give special thanks to the West Jordan Police Department for their kindness and commitment, and to all those who have contributed to the costs incurred through this tragedy. Your support means more than you will ever know.

Services will be held Thursday, 05/17/18 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 7250 South 300 East at 12pm. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6-8pm at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, and on Thursday from 11:00-11:45 am at the church.
