Obituary for David A. Lake

On November 24, 2017, David A. Lake, surrounded by his loved ones, passed into eternity to be reunited with his loving parents and siblings. He was born in a humble setting December 30, 1924 in Downey, Idaho. He was the 7th of 10 children born to James Robert Lake and Elnora Henrietta (Rosdahl). He reluctantly survived all his siblings and their spouses.
From this modest beginning, he went on to serve our nation in WWII in the European Theater. The war claimed one of his beloved brothers, Morris; but he never showed any bitterness about it. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, he went on to serve his God in the Midwest States mission. Having served his country and his God, he enrolled at BYU. He graduated from the Y and moved to Pocatello, Idaho to continue to take care of his mother. There he met the love of his life, Lucille Doris Hannon. They were married and sealed June 4, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Their life together included 5 children: Kevin (Rachelle), Sue Christiansen (Mark), Cheryl White (Bart), Robert (Jennifer), and Marci. Over the years the family grew by 17 grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren who brought great joy, happiness and at times chaos to his life.
He worked as an accountant in the trucking industry and retired from Savage Industries. He devoted his life to his faith and his family.
Though we grieve as his loved ones left behind, we know that he is the center of a great celebration on the other side.
