Don graduated from South High and attended the University of Utah where he met his 1st wife, Pearl Shaffer. Pearl and Don had 3 children together: Deborah, Christeen & Stephen. Later he divorced and married Ann Thiriot. Together they had a son, Shawn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burt Carlson; his mother, Donna White; his brother, Dale White; and his daughter, Deborah Householder. Don was a hard worker. He enjoyed a 50-year career as a master offset pressman. He had a green thumb and loved growing and tending to his great tomato garden while reminiscing with neighbors, friends and family on the front porch.
