Obituary for George Emil Conklin

George E. Conklin passed away June 9, 2018. He was born in Dover, NJ to parents Harry and Mary Conklin. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Mechanical Engineering and married Betty Nydam (later divorced). They had two children, Janet Barnhouse (Bill) and John Conklin (Valerie) both residing in the Carolinas with their beautiful families.

George later married his sweetheart, Joan Lillie Lefgren Conklin, and became apart of her family, sons Bruce Pitts (Kathy) and Brent Pitts (Tanya). The two families came together to include 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Since their wedding they have laughed, danced, held hands, sang, and traveled the world, taking 27 cruises and touring 6 continents. George had a passion for life and left behind no regrets. We have no doubt that heaven has just become a lot more interesting.

Please join us in celebrating George’s life as we conduct a viewing at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street in Murray, Utah on Monday 6/11/18 from 6:00-7:00 PM and Funeral Services on Tuesday 6/12/18 at 11:00 AM at the LDS chapel located at 6180 S. 850 E.
