Obituary for Joyce Butler

Joyce Bird Butler, 93, passed away on January 1, 2018 in Holladay, Utah. She was born on December 8, 1924 in Magna, Utah to Dewey Walter and Sarah Jeanette Adamson Bird. She married Perry L. Butler in Las Vegas, NV on March 7, 1946.

Joyce loved to party, loved music, singing and dancing. Joyce and Perry Danced at the Organ Loft, Fort Douglas Club, Cottonwood Club, The Dance Club and on cruises. They loved to travel and go on cruises throughout their marriage. Joyce worked for Eimac-Varian for 38 years. She was a member of the PEO, Assistance League and the White Shrine.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Holloway; grandson, James Patrick O’Reilly (Summer); 4 great grandchildren, Logan, James, Kylah, and Cailin; sister, Eleanor “Nikey” (Dick) Titmus; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Brent (Eleanor), Gordon “Dice” (Elma), Dewey (Dori) Bird; sisters, Lois (Jack) Johnston, Betty (Ted) Crafts, June (John) Colianna, Colleen (Blaine) Nelson.

Special thanks to the staff at Cottonwood Place Senior Living and Brighton Hospice.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, 3 pm at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine Street. A reception for friends and family will be held at Little America, 4:30-5:30 pm, Dinner, 6:00 pm. Please share online condolences at
