Obituary for Judith Ann Wells Gill

1941 ~ 2018

Our dear wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Judith Ann Wells Gill, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by those she loved on July 5, 2018.

Born June 22, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Richard (Dick) and Betty Wells.
Judy, a happy, smiling girl, always cared for those around her. From an early age, it was clear that she could make others feel special. Judy had so many friend groups that we cannot list them all. She blessed others with her kindness, and we know she will be missed by all. Judy was active in the LDS church, where she served in many capacities throughout her life. Judy loved her Savior and those who knew her, knew that.

She loved playing tennis, and could often be found on the court laughing with her dear friends.
Judy served as co-chairman of the Festival of Trees for 3 years, where she taught her children through example the love for service to others. She was instrumental in raising a million dollars to donate to Primary Children’s Hospital during her time as chairman of Pennies by the Inch.
Judy attended schools locally and was a member of the first graduating class at Highland High School. She also attended BYU. She was sealed for time and all eternity to the love of her life, Gordon G. (Jeff) Gill in the Logan Utah Temple on February 21, 1963, and their union was blessed with 5 beloved children.

Judy loved spending time with her family in their motor home, at their condo in St. George, and at their cabin in Wyoming. Nothing was more important to her than her family.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Gill; children: Gavin Gill (Michelle), Allison Whitney (Dallas), Shannon Jones (Ryan), Whitney Green (Mike), and Ryan Gill (Lacy); 20 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; her sisters, Susan Ludlow (Thomas), and Janice Sipes (Bill). Judy, Susan and Janice have been inseparable for their entire lives. They affectionately called themselves the “Three Little Pigs”. Thank you, Aunties. Heart emoji!!
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Dick and Betty Wells, and her precious grandson, Eli Ryan Gill.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the East Millcreek 2nd Ward building at 3750 Hillside Ln. (2500 East) SLC, UT 84109. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment to follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr., Millcreek, Utah.

The family would like to thank Judy’s grandson and granddaughter-in law, Brock and Ali Whitney, who lived with them and lovingly took care of Judy. We would also like to thank the staff at Horizon Hospice, particularly Katrina, for the loving care given to Judy in her last days. A special thank you to Seini Kaufusi who blessed our family with her loving care to our Momma. We love you Mom! Until we meet again
