Obituary for Maxwell William Kirk

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, Maxwell William Kirk, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2018. Maxwell was born in Murray, Utah on November 8, 1926 to William James Kirk and Myrtle Camp Kirk. He was the youngest of 4 children.

Throughout his life, Maxwell made many friends. His best friends were Keith, Glen, Art and Rocky. He has also served in many church callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He also worked at the Salt Lake County Public Works for 38 ½ years—as a snowplow operator, garbage truck driver, as well as a road worker.

Maxwell married his sweetheart, Nola G. Wardle, in the Salt Lake Temple. They have been married for 70 years and had 4 children; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Maxwell enjoyed spending time with his family and having family parties. He had many favorite television shows—including Dallas, Roy Rogers and Perry Mason. He loved going camping and fishing. Maxwell loved helping people.

We can only imagine the reunion that is happening with all of his relatives on the other side—especially with his son, Kerry and his parents. “Maxwell, we will all miss you and will see you in Heaven.”

Maxwell is survived by his loving wife, Nola Gem Kirk; his children: Kenneth M. Kirk, Laury Kirk Lugo and Keralee Kirk Peterson (Jan); his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sister; and son, Kerry William Kirk.
