Dorothy Jordan Jones passed away Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013 of a cerebral hemorrhage from a fall. She was born October 18, 1923 in Salt Lake City to George Crozier Jordan and Mary Jane Brooks. She was married to her sweetheart, Clyde Raymond Jones in the Salt Lake Temple on June 25, 1942. They were always together and valued their love for each other, enjoying their prized possessions…their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She wrote and directed many roadshows for the youth. Dorothy worked for the Deseret News and Mountain Bell. She was a true American patriot…loving the flag, the songs, and respect for this great land. She was a lady of dignity and grace. Her respect for the noble and good things in life touched many lives. She will be missed, not only by family, but also by many friends, neighbors, and associates.
She is survived by her daughter Diane (Keith) Tempest ; sons: Brent (Laura) Jones, and Wayne (Susan) Jones, 30 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Jones; son, Kent Jones; grandchildren, Marcus and Nathan; brothers, Stanley Jordan and George Jordan.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 am at the River Ridge 9th Ward, 9700 South 1244 West, South Jordan, Utah. Friends may greet the family from 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to the service. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
