Alice Godfrey (Nance) Morgan Obituary (1915 - 2013)

Alice Godfrey (Nance) Morgan passed away in Midvale, Utah of natural causes. She was born in South Cottonwood, Utah to Horace T. and Lucy Bringhurst Godfrey. She married Wesley B. Nance. Three children were born to this marriage. They later divorced. She married Robert P. Morgan, Jr. on April 21, 1973. Alice was devoted to her family, very proud of her heritage, and dedicated to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many Ward and Stake and Community positions, but never forgot her most important role of Mother to her children. We are sure her spirit will live on to bless the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was employed by the Utah-Idaho School Supply Company, the Fabian, Clendenin, Moffat and Mabey Law Firm, and worked for 31 years as Secretary and Director of the Payroll Department of the Jordan School District. Alice is survived by her children: Gayle Nance Burr and husband Bryan; Jay H. Nance and wife Connie; Paul W. Nance and wife Nancy; step-son, John Robert Morgan; 21 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a great-grandson, Matthew Porter; a granddaughter, Nicole Rose Nance; step-daughter, Carol Ann Morgan Culverwell and husband, Hal; and step-grandson, Richard Culverwell. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. Viewings will also be at the mortuary Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Funeral Home: Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary-Murray 4760 So.
