Allan Carl Stuart Obituary (1934 - 2015)

1934 – 2015 Allan Carl Stuart, age 81, passed away peacefully in South Jordan, UT on October 12, 2015. He was born June 21, 1934 in Ogden, UT to Carl G. and Lillian Hodges Stuart. He married LeeOnna Rae Jackson on August 25, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from South Rich High School, attended Utah State University (Studied mechanical Engineering) & the University of Utah. He was an active member of the LDS Church where he had many opportunities to serve. He worked at Swifts Meat Packing Plant for two years, Boeing Airplane Plant for one year, and EIMCO in the Mining Division for 19 years. He went into business for himself and formed his company as Specialty Steel Erectors in 1977. A year later, he had Larry Peterson join him in the business. They subcontracted to Westech Engineering and completed jobs all over the world. When Allan was working for EIMCO, he travelled worldwide and spent considerable time in Africa, Jamaica and South America. He was EIMCO's representative for California and Oregon for one year. Allan and Larry built steel buildings and they built their shop in West Jordan. They also built a home out in the Vernal area. Allan was a workaholic all his life, worked on his own cars and went into retirement at the age of 80 because of health problems. He loved to camp, water ski, jet skiing, boating and spending time at his uncle's cabin in Island Park. He loved spending winters in Yuma, Arizona for the last 15 years. He sold the shop in October 2014 and gave up the business license in April of 2015. He is survived by his wife, LeeOnna; children, Ray Allan (New Jersey), Joni Lynn Lemmon (Roger) (Colorado Springs, CO), Brenda Lee Andrus (Scott) (South Jordan, UT); two sisters, Nanette Anderson and Darlene Scothern (Reed); one brother, John Mark Stuart (Edna); 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Hodges Stuart; and a son, Richard Carl Stuart. Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Jordan 1st Ward, 3890 W. 4145 S., West Valley City, UT, with a viewing from 10:30-11:30 a.m. An evening viewing will be held Friday, October 16th from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. Burial will be at the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery, 4420 W. 4100 S., West Valley City, UT.
