Althea Ferris Potts Obituary (1952 - 2010)

In Loving MemoryAlthea Ferris Potts, age 58, passed away at home after a valiant fight with illness on September 1, 2010 in Sandy, Utah.She was born February 20, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah daughter of Olaf Nicholas and Dorothy Ferris Potts. She was raised in Granger (now West Valley City), Utah. She graduated from Granger High and the University of Utah with bachelor and master degrees in accounting. She was an exceptional student and belonged to numerous honor societies.She was a Certified Public Accountant in Hawaii, Texas and Utah. Following graduation she was employed as an auditor for Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte Touche). She also worked for many years for BD Medical in the Finance Department.Her greatest joy was her nieces and nephew and their children. She was a very devoted Aunt and Great Aunt and enjoyed taking them out on dates and spoiling them to the greatest extent possible. She was proficient in French and played the piano exquisitely. She will be greatly missed.She is survived by her brother Daniel and his wife Patricia, her brother Richard, nieces Cynthia (Mike), Heidi (Jason), Tiffany (Adam) and Trisha (Darrin), nephew Joseph and eight great nieces and nephews.No public services or viewings are planned.
