Obituary for Arthur Gardell Jensen

Gardell Jensen passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on October 1, 2018. He was 91 years old. He grew up in Emery, Utah, and was the second youngest of 5 children. He served in the Navy during WWII.

Gardell loved his family and showed it by his constant support and willingness to help. He was often seen in the bleachers at various sporting events cheering for a grandchild or great-grandchild. At some time during every visit with family he would ask “if there was anything he could do”; and if there was, he would get it done. From helping fix the roof to picking the kids up from school, he was there to lend a hand.

Gardell was a hard-worker, and there was never a job too big or complicated for him to accomplish. He was respected and valued for his incredible work ethic. He was a foreman for Enoch Smith Sons Company for 50 years and a member of Operating Engineers Local 3.

He had an infectious smile and loved to tell stories, especially during the annual hunting trip to “the mountain”. Gardell was truly one of a kind.

Gardell will be missed by his wife, Gay; his son, Kerry Jensen (Teresa); Kerry’s children: Hollie, Christian and Kathrin Klinetop (Billy); Hollie’s children: Tyler and Siera; his daughter-in-law, Shanna Anderson; his daughter, Carla Jensen; Carla’s children: Britney, Bridget, Brody, and Brian Jeffs; and many great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
