Beth Lillywhite Bateman Osborn Obituary (1919 - 2016)

Beth Lillywhite Osborn passed away April 1, 2016 at age 96 1/2 from cancer, not old age. She was born in Mesa, Arizona on September 23, 1919 to Horace F. and Georgana Stowell Lillywhite. After graduating from Phoenix Union High School with honors, she worked for Barry Goldwater as a secretary to earn money to attend BYU in 1939. After one year, she married Max Bateman, which ended in divorce. Later she married Norman W. Osborn in the Salt Lake Temple. She had a successful real estate career for 40 years, retiring at 90. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling many piano and organ assignments. She served a 19 month full-time mission at 80 years of age, as secretary to the Mission President of the Independence, Missouri Mission. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother and 3 sisters, her husband, and daughter Diane. She is survived by children: Barry (Leslie), Dwight (Christine), Marilyn Hanson (Craig), Ron (Julie). She was always proud of her 19 grandchildren, 50 great-grands, and 2 great-greats. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the River Ridge 1st Ward, 10124 South 1300 West, South Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah and also from 10:30-11:30 am on Monday, April 4 at the ward prior to the funeral services. Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
