Betty T. Erickson Obituary (1921 - 2011)

Betty, our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away on December 4, 2011 surrounded by her family. Betty was born June 1, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to LeRoy Charles Tripp Sr. and Victoria Hill Tripp where she grew up with 3 younger sisters and 4 younger brothers. Her early working career was at the Makoff department store, first in the fur department and then in the accounting department. There, she was introduced to her husband, Robert F. Erickson, by Lois who was a co-worker and his sister. They were married on March 24, 1948 and spent just shy of 64 years together. Later, she worked in the Murray School District lunch program and in the office at Parkside Elementary. She loved to travel and visit new places. After retiring, she was able to visit all 50 states in their motor home (lower 48 states) and on 2 cruises (Alaska and Hawaii). We would like to thank the care workers at Legacy Village Memory Care for all the help and loving care they showed her over the last several months. Betty is survived by her loving and devoted husband (Bert), 2 sons Paul (Kay) Erickson and Mark Erickson, 4 grandchildren (Jen, Devin, Scott, Tami), 6 great grandchildren (Becky, Sheldon, Brandon, Rylee, Luke, Craig), 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Family and friends may call Friday, December 9, 2011 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street. Interment will be immediately following at Larkin Sunset Garden, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road.
