Calleen Clair Cheney-Precourt Obituary (1943 - 2021)

Our dear sister and aunt, Calleen Clair Cheney-Precourt, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Calleen was the daughter of Arch Allen Cheney and Barbara Wentworth Cheney. Calleen was born on January 3, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended Granite High School and the University of Utah where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Calleen spent 40 years living in Mansfield, Massachusetts where she worked as an insurance underwriter and realtor. She loved animals and started to raise AKA Doberman Pincers and Afghans. She also took interest in the town of Mansfield and served on its city council. Calleen also enjoyed bridge and was recently playing and working at the Holladay Senior Center until the Covid 19 outbreak. She also loved to oil paint, knit, and play golf. Calleen was married to Lawrence (Larry) Precourt until his death in 2012. Calleen is survived by her siblings Karen Cheney Owen (Douglas) and Arch Allen Cheney, Jr. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Brittany Skidmore (Matt), Emily Merrill (Vince), Zachary Cheney (Hillary), and Hillary Garner (Tom), Steven Owen (Alisyn), Daniel C. Owen (Heidi), Jennifer Hoj (Tim), Amy Schafer (Craig), Nathan C. Owen (Cari), (San Clemente, CA) and Megan M. Young (Joe), Eagar, AZ). Caleen is preceded in death by her father Arch Allen Cheney, her mother Barbara Wentworth Cheney, and her sister Allison Jane Cheney. There will be a Memorial for family and friends on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 5:00 pm at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home located at 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah. . Interment will be at Murray City Cemetery on Monday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m.
