Cameron Dale Hicks

–

South Jordan, UT

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Cameron Dale Hicks, 46, of South Jordan, Utah passed away on August 17, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an auto/motorcycle accident. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 4, 1971 to Henry Lamar and Carol Woodruff Hicks.

Dale, as his friends and family knew him, grew up in the Millcreek area and graduated from Olympus high school in 1989. He married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Jones, on March 19, 1991. They have 4 amazing children. Kamryn and Brayden (18), Parker (16) and Preston (15) who will miss their dad dearly.

Dale immediately began his career in the IT industry, earning many certifications that would lead him further down his career path. For the past 19 years he worked for the State of Utah, and was currently the Manager of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for the Department of Technology Services.

Dale was an avid scoutmaster. He and his boys had many scouting adventures over the years. He was especially proud when his oldest son, Brayden, received his Eagle Scout. He was certified through the NRA as a Chief Range Officer. This allowed him to instruct gun use and safety courses as a scoutmaster. He enjoyed many hobbies including golf, motorcycle riding and working on cars. He was a problem solver and enjoyed the challenge. His biggest hobby was his family. He took every opportunity he could to travel and vacation with them. They would routinely take vacations in the family RV to many national parks, visiting all the places he had visited as a child.

Dale is survived by his wife, their children, Jessica Hall (Brayden’s fiancé), his mother, his sisters Terrilyn (Jesse) Summers, Catherine Callister, his brothers Scott (Nancy), Patrick (Dori), Keith (Connie), and Nathan (Tammy). His father and moter-in-law William and Mary K. Jones, brother and sister-in-laws Kathryn (Dave) Persch, Liz Jones (Lorraine Petersen), Kristen (Travis) Powell, David (Tiffany) Jones, Steven (Jen) Jones and Carolyn (Gary) Potter. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends who miss and loved him dearly. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lamar Hicks.

We would like to thank the medical staff at Intermountain Medical Center, Life Flight and several bystanders for their aid and help at the scene.

Please start seeing motorcycles! Play a game similar to ‘slug bug’ with your kids to get them to start noticing so that when they grow up they are already looking for them.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to the memorial fund through You Caring at https://www.youcaring.com/dalehicks-909798
