Carl S. Russell Obituary (1918 - 2008)

“Gone Fishing” Carl S. Russell, age 89, passed away Jan. 6, 2008 at Crosslands Care Center from causes incident to age. His joy in life was to fish Soldier Creek until his health would not allow it. He was born July 25, 1918 in Roosevelt, Utah to Simeon and Maud Russell. He was a veteran of WWII, Philippines Manila. Preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; wife, Arlene; and daughter, Dianne Bassett. Survived by his son, Val; 6 grandchildren, Torina (Jim), Allen, Kameron, Carla, Kirk (Frankie), Jill; 7 great-grandchildren. I would like to thank the staff at Crosslands and CNS Community Hospice nurses for the loving care shown to Dad. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends and family may call from 12-12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
