Carlyn Sue Sewell Obituary (1948 - 2014)

Our beautiful Tudy Sue, the woman with literally 9 lives, has chosen to be in a better place. After 16 years of fighting to stay alive, her little body, is finally pain free. When we hear the term Hero, it's not Batman or Superman or anybody that wears a cape. It's simply, Tudy Sue. She was a hero to so many people in so many ways. She is going to be missed beyond measures by everybody whose lives she touched. She was born in Salt Lake on July 9, 1948 to Charles Dyer and Diane Knowlton. July was the best month to be born as she loved fireworks. She attended South High and was so proud to say that she completed some college and earned her Associates Degree. She married Richard Hess in 1969 and took such pride in being an Army Wife. After many struggles, they conceived two daughters, Jenifer and Heidi- Who were the lights of her life. Tudy and Richard later divorced. She then married George Sewell in 1978. The two of them, together, raised Jen and Heidi and were a beautiful family for 14 years, Tudy and George grew apart and later divorced. Tudy loved boating, camping, bowling, gardening, chocolate of any kind and riding on the back of a Harley. She also loved playing her guitar and singing. Traveling, playing golf (was better at driving the cart) going to UTE games (tailgating was best), making fresh salsa with veggies from her garden and doing her nails. She loved to gamble and was a fan of Wendover. Her passion and therapy was working in her yard. This year is the best it's ever looked. Her other passion was her doggie Addi, who was such a comfort to her after losing Jen. Tudy was the best mom on this planet. Every softball game, piano concert, clogging performance and beauty pageant, she was always there supporting her girls. She was an at home mom and raised her two daughters to be loving and accept all people. She opened her heart and her home to everybody. Once you met Tudy, you had a friend for life. Three years ago, she became a grandma "gammy" to two little boys, Finn and Max. Once they came, nothing else mattered. The little monsters gave her purpose and the will to live. They will miss her dearly. Tudy is survived by her daddy Chuck, daughter Heidi (Jarrod), two little baby grandsons, Finners and Maxis, and doggie Addi. Preceded in death by her mother Diane Kellogg, daughter Jenifer, best friend Steph (Teff) and grandparents. She loved her brother Dave (Brov) and her sister Debie (Daubies), her step siblings, Ed, Mel, Wendy, Cathy and her favorite aunt Sue. She had oodles of cousins, nieces and nephews-too many to name, but she loved every one. She adored her son-in-law Jarrod. She loved her soul mate Dan and her best friend Penny (Piney Kitty). Trudy endured immense pain but retained an incredible sense of humor and a giving and grateful heart. She was amazing and genuinely funny. Rest in peace my one of a kind mom (Eenie). You're finally without pain, and are now with Jen. Thanks to IMC, Gibson's Pharmacy, Midas Creek, Doctors Pete Sundwall and Patricia Nelson. Funeral services (Casual Dress, Tudy believed in being "comfy") will be held Saturday September 20, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) Visitation from 11:00 am-12:00 pm prior to services. Interment to follow at Murray City Cemetery.
