Carol Ann Champion Wiley Obituary (1967 - 2016)

Carol Ann Wiley, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 after her battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she passed away peacefully in her home in West Jordan, UT. Carol Ann was born in West Palm Beach, FL to Waylon and Janet Champion. Carol Ann grew up in the Salt Lake Valley where she graduated from Brighton High School, and went on to Utah Valley State College where she met and married the love of her life James (Jim) Wiley in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 24, 1988. Carol Ann felt the greatest title in the world was "Mother". She waited many years to get the daughter she always wanted; we are forever grateful for a young lady that gave up her child we could adopt. Carol Ann always wanted a larger family, so she went and looked for kids to love. She found two of them through the Foreign Exchange Student program. Martina Eschbach of Switzerland, and Helena Ramsvik of Norway. These girls instantly became her daughters. Mother was her greatest title, and she excelled at it. Never a kinder, gentler soul would you meet. Carol Ann instantly made you her friend. She had the gift to listen, and love to share. Her smile would warm your heart, and make you feel the most genuine love. She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and would always have a song she was singing. Carol Ann was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully in many callings. Many would be said to be her favorite, but her most recent had to be her greatest joy with the River Oaks, Young Single Adults. Carol Ann served as a Young Women's President, Primary President and Stake Primary President. She was also able to serve in several Relief Society Presidencies. She had a great love and testimony of family history and would spend countless hours at the computer working on a family name. Carol Ann is survived by her husband Jim Wiley, daughter Sarah Wiley, her parents Waylon and Janet Champion, her sisters Jeri Sue (Rick) Jones, Shelly (Matt) Church, Cindy (Shawn) Searle, and brother Lee Champion. They were her priorities in life. Carol Ann would always be looking for an opportunity to get the nephew and nieces together to play. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the River Oaks Stake Center, 8950 S 1300 W, West Jordan, UT. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 12 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan, UT from 5:00 – 8:00p.m., and the day of the funeral from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment at South Jordan City Cemetery.
