Carolyn Louise Healey Noyce Obituary (1947 - 2011)

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn Louise Healey Noyce of South Jordan Utah returned to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 6, 2011. She lived a happy life and valiantly endured her challenges and trials battling the insidious disease of Multiple Sclerosis. Mom was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 31, 1947 to Dayton Ephraim and Margaret Catherine (Peterson) Healey. She met her future husband, Timothy Wayne Noyce, on a blind date. Nine months later, they were married, on March 18th 1968, in the Salt Lake Temple on a snowy spring day. They were blessed with five children; Timothy Ryan Noyce (Diana), Kimberly Oborn (Raymond), Baby Carolyn (full-term stillborn), Allison Kay Turley (Nate), and Jodie Lucile Noyce. She returned to school when Ryan started college and received a bachelors degree from the University of Utah in 1994. Throughout her life, Mom was an active, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in the Relief Society, Young Women’s, and especially the Primary. Mom loved her children and particularly her grandchildren. They were her life, she spent countless hours serving and loving her grandchildren, who always brought a smile to her face. She loved time spent with her husband and her close friends, including square dancing, backpacking, attending the theatre, and going on cruises. Mom had an artistic flair and enjoyed painting, knitting, baking, making Christmas chocolates, and gardening. As a teenager and mother, she spent hours sewing clothing for herself and children (including her wedding dress), doll clothes, and stuffed animals. Camping with the family, even in the rain, was always a highlight of her summer. Regardless of her health problems, Mom loved walking anywhere and everywhere. Serving in the Jordan River Temple was an absolute joy in Mom’s later years, and she relished the opportunity to serve as a Guest Service Missionary with her husband on Temple Square. She is survived by her loving husband, four of her children, 16 grandchildren, and her brother Lynn Healey. She was preceded in death by her parents and her precious Baby Carolyn. Viewings will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10th from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy, S. Jordan) and Friday Nov. 11th from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Willoughby Park Ward in Daybreak (4484 W. Willoughby Drive, S. Jordan). Funeral Services will be Friday, Nov. 11, at 12 noon at Willoughby Park Ward. Internment will be at Redwood Memorial (6500 South Redwood Road). Mom, We love you and are so grateful your suffering has ended. Until we meet again.
