Catharina Van Leeuwen Nieuwland Obituary (1928 - 2014)

Catharina Van Leeuwen Nieuwland was born 8 November, 1928 in Delft, Netherlands, to Karel Govert Van Leeuwen and Catharina Koelmans. She married Jacob Nieuwland on 19 August, 1949. They immigrated to the United States soon after and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they established a happy home in Murray, Utah and raised Jacob Jr. (Ruth), Cathy (Rick) Donkin, Michael (Frances) and Melanie (Terry) Haws. Jacob passed away in 1982 and Catharina carried on alone for 32 years, watching the family grow to 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She passed away on 1 August 2014. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, and Wednesday, August 20th, at the Heritage Ward, 67 West Clay Park Drive (6200 S.), Murray, from 10-10:45 a.m., prior to the funeral.
