Cecil Dudley Ninow Obituary (1932 - 2012)

Cecil Dudley Ninow, beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away due to complications of pulmonary fibrosis on Sunday, December 23, 2012. He was born February 24, 1932 the tenth child of eleven children of Frederick George and Clara May Burns Ninow (deceased). Born and raised in South Africa, Cecil left home at the age of 21 and immigrated to Canada, then to the United States. Married Natalie Jones Ninow April 12, 1958 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. They raised eight children: Randall, Todd (Robin), Susan Garcia (Tony), Leslie Kerr (Scott), Allison Nelson, Shannon Weirick (Dick), Lisa Hicks (Noel), and Robert (Brenda), 23 grandchildren and 3 ½ great grandchildren. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the Savior. Cecil excelled in school and received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University and his M.B.A. from the University of Utah. He worked while going to school, supporting his family and paying his own tuition. In 1970, while working for Eimco Corp., he was able to take his family to Zambia for 2 years on an assignment which gave them the opportunity to visit his homeland of South Africa. Cecil leaves behind his wife and children, one sister Thema Dalgleish (Doug) of Toronto, Canada. Funeral Services will be held Friday December 28, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Midvale 1st Ward Chapel 308 West 7500 South. A viewing will be held Thursday December 27th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S) and from 10:00-11:30 on Friday at the church prior to the service.
