Christian Lee Meurer Obituary (1937 - 2005)

To view a video tribute for Christian L. Meurer, please click here. Christian Lee Meurer, a dear husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on October 24, 2005. He was born on February 23, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of John J. Meurer and Eva W. Lee. He graduated from South High in 1955, and soon thereafter enlisted in the Navy. Upon his completion of service he enrolled and graduated from University of Utah with a B.S. in Psychology. He then joined the Air Force where continued to pursue his education and graduated from Ball State with a Masters in Guidance & Counseling. He was a veteran of Vietnam War and a recipient of the Bronze Star. Upon retiring from the military, he worked for 20 years in the aerospace industry. Christian was a dedicated member of the LDS church and served faithfully and diligently in many church callings. He enjoyed spending time with his family, travel, history and tending to his garden. Survived by his wife, Patricia; children; Angela (Ben) Knudson, Danielle (Ed) Pfaff, John Meurer, Corey (Shay) Meurer; step-children; Rebecca Hyde, Gwendolyn Hyde, Paul, Anna, Matthew and Erik Johnson; 15 grandchildren; sister, Kerry (Richard) Luehring; nephew, Mike (Krista) Luehring; aunt Iris Frakes and cousin Sharon Gibb; former-spouse, Kathee Gabriel and his beloved pets, Putts and Esper. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 1:00 pm at the Willow Creek Stake Center, 2350 E. Creek Rd., Sandy. Visitations will be held Thursday 6:00-8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 South), and at the church from 11:30-12:30 pm prior to services. Entombment Lake Hills Cemetery.
