Claire Debra "Debbie" Mitchell Obituary (1950 - 2015)

Claire Debra "Debbie" Mitchell, returned home to her Lord and Savior May 12, 2015 after a valiant fight against cancer. Debbie was born August 28, 1950 in Denver, Colorado to Rubin Kravitz and Naomi Lipton. At the age of 19, she became a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She dedicated her life providing service to others. She served as a missionary in the Church Humanitarian Center and later in the Church Family History Library. Here she developed a love for genealogy and took great joy in helping people of all faiths find their ancestors. Debbie had a deep, profound faith in Jesus Christ and received many miracles throughout her life. Debbie was blessed with 5 children. She worked and sacrificed much to raise them on her own. She is survived by her children Heidi, Rebecca, Tamara, Joseph, Sarah, eight grandchildren, and her dog Princess. Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Rubin, and mother, Naomi. Viewings will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, Utah and on Saturday, May 16, from 12:00 to 12:45pm at the Nibley Park Ward LDS Church Building, 2450 South 600 East, Salt Lake City, UT. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, UT. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Debbie Mitchell Memorial Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch.
