Concordia "Dhing" Dayonan Ernst Obituary (1949 - 2019)

Concordia Dayonan Ernst, affectionately known by all who loved her as “Dhing”, passed away unexpectedly on June 22, 2019 at St. Marks Hospital in Millcreek, Utah. Born April 19, 1949 in Mahaplag, Leyte, Philippines to the late Guillermo and Filomena Dayonan of Barrio Mahayahay, Leyte; she was a graduate of the University of Southern Philippines with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Dhing married her sweetheart, William, on July 30, 1975, and became a U.S. citizen in 1982. She is survived in the United States by her adoring husband of nearly 44 years, William; her daughters Desiree Furness (Michael) and Candy Friedli (Todd); and grandsons Jackson and Peter Friedli. In the Philippines, she was preceded in death by her sister Clarita “Nene” Dayonan Hintenberg (Eric – deceased) and her brother Romeo Dayonan (Aurora - deceased). She is survived by sisters Teresita “Daday” Dayonan Bagohin (Celestino – deceased), Virginia “Bebe” Dayonan Datwin (Canesio – deceased), and Emelia “Boy” Dayonan Oquias (Andres – deceased) as well as numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Dhing resided in South Jordan, Utah and was a realtor working with Windermere Real Estate in West Valley City, Utah. She loved gardening, browsing through antique shops, crocheting, cooking and taking bus trips to Wendover. She was well known in the local Filipino community for her humor, congeniality and generosity. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
