D. Brett Lusty Obituary (1951 - 2019)

David Brett Lusty passed away June 23, 2019 at the age of 67. He was born on December 30, 1951 at George Air Force Base in Victorville, CA. Brett was a gregarious person and a friend to many; he never met a stranger. He was an avid and skilled sailor and enjoyed many years racing at Bear Lake, as well as in Mexico and cruising the Northwest. He loved skiing the powder of Solitude, tinkering in his vegetable garden and general messing about. He was a jack of all trades, never settling for any one profession. He was a master of trivia knowledge and willing to share it with those willing or unwilling to engage. He graduated from Brighton High School class of 1970 and attended the University of Utah. Brett was married to Terryl VanOrman, later divorced. He married Nancy Johnson and they happily welcomed daughter Brooke, who is currently serving an LDS mission in Chicago, Illinois. Brett is survived by his father David, siblings: DeeAnne (John) and their children, Amber and Tyler, Liz (Greg) and son Brayden; niece Camille (James) and their children; many cousins; and Aunt Phyllis. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara and brother Bart. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, at the home of Justin and Sandy Lee, 8525 Daneborg Drive, Cottonwood Heights, UT from 5PM-8PM. The Lee family's generosity is greatly appreciated.
