Obituary for Darci B. Anderson Taylor

Was born to wonderful parents, Boyd D. and Alice Burton Anderson on April 7, 1963. She was adored by her siblings: Boyd (Jann), Terry (Ray) Peterson, Gregory, Scott (Connie), Rolayne (Bryan) Jewkes, Marla (Scott) Stephenson, Norman (Teresa), Kirk (Trena) and Lisa (Chris) Oborn.

Darci grew up in West Jordan and graduated from Bingham High in 1981. Attended Snow College where she earned an Associates Degree in Business. Darci went to New Jersey to be a nanny where she met her lifelong friend Robin from Australia. Darci liked adventure and travel. She spent time in several states including Hawaii. She was able to spend several weeks in Australia. Darci liked the theatre and was in community plays with her sisters. She went on to be on the board of the West Jordan Youth Theatre.

In 1990 Darci met the love of her life and married R. Darran Taylor on September 7th. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on their first wedding anniversary. She became an instant mom to his two children Tiffany and Michael (Sharon) who she loved like they were her own. Later she brought Bridgit, Kody and Sabrina into the world. She loves her kids and 6 grandkids very much and gave them all she had. She passed onto them her love of animals, theatre and the water.

Darci left this world peacefully on October 3rd at age 55 due to complications from a short and valiant battle with Multiple Myeloma. Even through the challenges of her fight with cancer she was aggressively cheerful, brave and more concerned with her family’s struggles than her own. This was a good reflection of how she lived every day, putting others first with a beautiful, excited smile.

We are very grateful for the loving care she received from Dr. Gregory Litton, the bone marrow transplant team, the 8 east and ICU care givers at LDS Hospital. You are all special people and we will not forget the love and support you showed Darci and her family.

There will be a visitation at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home; 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10500 S.) on Monday, October 8th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. And a visitation at the LDS church located at 7350 S. 1300 W., West Jordan on Tuesday, October 9th from 10:00-10:45 am with a service starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the West Jordan City Cemetery 1300 W. 7800 S. If you have any photos printed of Darci, we ask that you bring a copy to add to a memory board honoring her life.
