Darlene Udy Harrison

Darlene passed on June 4, 2017 in Taylorsville, Utah due to incident to age, and returned to her Heavenly Father and a host of friends and family who preceded her in death.

Darlene was born October 3, 1934 to Hazel Loretta Allen and Newell J. Udy. She married Vaun Eldon Harrison on December 13, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Darlene was a graduate of Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended nursing school and was an avid self-learner.

Darlene and Vaun began their life together in Cache Valley, Utah. They lived for a time in Georgia and Colorado finally settling in Taylorsville, Utah. They attended the Taylorsville 1st Ward and then, due to illness, recently moved to the Legacy House of Taylorsville.

Darlene, through her strong faith and belief in Christ, enjoyed her service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary, Relief Society, Young Women's, and enjoyed singing in the choir. Through her service, Darlene made many loving relationships and brought her vibrancy and sweet loving spirit to those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Darlene had a great love for nature. Vaun and Darlene spent many hours with their family, camping and enjoying the great outdoors. Logan Canyon was their "home away from home" and also spent many happy hours on Bear Lake. Darlene loved arts and crafts making many beautiful projects for her family and friends to enjoy.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Vaun Eldon Harrison. They were married for 65 years. Together Darlene and Vaun had 5 children. They are: Steven Vaun Harrison (Maryann), Randy Lynn Harrison (Susan (deceased) Pam), Pamela Jean Harrison Blum (Richard), Dennis Brent Harrison (Jan), and Janet Harrison Udell (Rhone). They doted on 20 grandchildren and 41 great- grandchildren. Siblings are: DeVonna Udy Bagley (Jay), JoAnn Udy Hanson (Jim, deceased), Tom Udy (Barbara), Calvin Udy (Trisha), Dorothy Udy Oswald, Leona Harrison Lundstrum (Ralph-Deceased), Blair Harrison (Barbara), Val Harrison (Gloria), and Joyce Harrison Nelson (John).

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Hazel Udy.

A viewing will be held Friday, June 9, 2017, at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 12 Noon at the Taylorsville 1st Ward, 4845 So. Woodhaven Dr., Taylorsville, Utah with a viewing at the church from 11:00-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park Cemetery.
