Darrell Whicker Obituary (1942 - 2010)

“Pro Camper”After a lingering illness, Darrell passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2010. He was born to Ruby June Roberts Whicker and Edsel Whicker on April 28, 1942 in Ely, Nevada. Married Kay Christensen Carlisle on September 17, 1966; later divorced. He then married Sharron Jacobs on April 26, 1996.He was a general contractor in the Salt Lake Valley for many years and enjoyed building things and was always enthralled with new tools and gadgets. He loved traveling in his trailer—enjoying the overwhelming beauty of everywhere he traveled, taking in new and old sites of our great West. He was a gentle man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He had two children with Kay: Tiffany and Cory. He was preceded in death by his son, Cory; brother, Barry; and parents. He is survived by his wife, Sharron; daughter, Tiffany; stepsons, Terry, Tim, Steven, and Shaw; and brother, Ed.In remembering Darrell as you knew him, a Memorial Service will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Viewings will be held at the mortuary Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to service. It was Darrell’s desire to be cremated; therefore, a cremation will follow at a later date.
