Debbie Giron Casey Obituary (1956 - 2019)

Debbie was born to Horacio and Rose Giron. She attended South High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Mark Norman Casey. Together they raised 3 children: Tami (Jay) Thomas, Eric (Jennifer) Casey and Christopher (Whitney) Casey. She is also survived by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Mom’s love language was giving gifts. She found so much joy in buying and receiving gifts. She even kept a “prize box” in her closet for when the grandkids came to visit. She loved her family with all of her heart and although she wasn’t always the easiest person to get along with, she was always ready and willing to help someone in need. Mom loved to plan family gatherings; her favorite was meeting up for “breakfast in the canyons.” She also loved to travel. Mom was the most carefree and happy on vacation. She would always come home with a bag of souvenirs. We liked the ones she brought home from her trip to Jamaica the best. Mom wasn’t the sporty type, but she liked to golf. Time spent with friends at the Four Lakes Par 3 made for many happy memories. Unfortunately her golfing days came to an end due to her many health issues over the past10 years. But even when her body was giving up on her she tried to do normal things as often as she could. She especially liked going to her grandchildren’s sport and dance events. Mom was her own person—unique in many ways, and we are all going to miss her terribly. “Goodbye is not forever Goodbye is not the end, It simply means we’ll Miss you Until we meet again” Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, with a public viewing Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. A private family viewing will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
