Dell B. Ford Obituary (1926 - 2007)

Dell B. Ford, 80, of St. George, Utah passed away on August 13, 2007. He was born October 17, 1926 in Wallsburg, Wasatch County, Utah to Ervin Dell Ford and Stella Vilate Batty. He grew up in Wallsburg and graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City, Utah in 1944. He joined the United States Air Force after graduation. After serving, he returned home and met Doris Andrea Despain. They were married on August 24, 1952 in Provo, Utah, and were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on March 10, 2004. They were blessed with three sons and a daughter, and raised them in Lindon, Utah. He worked and retired from Heckett’s Engineering, after which they resided in Henderson, Nevada and Wallsburg, Utah, finally settling in St. George, Utah. Dad enjoyed gardening, farming, and especially working with his hands. He was a great husband, father, and provider for his family and taught all his children the value of hard work. He is survived by his wife, Doris; children, Michael Dell (LeAnn) of South Jordan; Kristine Lee (Steve) Handrahan of Springville; Jeffrey Martin (Nancy) of South Jordan; and Steven Ray (Brenda) of Las Vegas; 11 grandchilderen; 10 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Minnie Kelsch and Doris (Cullen) Batty. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vern. A viewing will be held from 10 AM – 12 PM on Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Wallsburg 1st Ward Chapel in Wallsburg, Utah, with graveside services to follow at the Wallsburg Cemetery.
