Dexta Jean Spencer Obituary (1933 - 2010)

Dexta Jean Spencer passed away on May 2, 2010 after a long hard battle with congestive heart failure. Dexta is survived by her (5) children, Debbie White, Sue Sorenson, Steve Sorenson, Donna Buring and Larry Spencer, her wonderful son-in-law (Ken White, Debbie’s husband) and her lovely daughter-in-law (Shelly Sorenson, Steve’s wife). Dexta is survived by her (7) grandchildren, Dean White, Nick White, Tyler Sorenson, Billy Buring, Cody Buring, Christian Sorenson and Tiffanee Sorenson. Dexta is survived by her (3) great grandchildren, Kaleb White, Jayden White and Baby Buring. Dexta is survived by her brother Richard Bartholomew, her sister Jeanine Bolden, her terrific brother in law Doug Boulden (Jeanine’s husband), and her beautiful sister in law Norma Bartholomew (Raymond’s wife). Dexta was married to the love of her life for 35 years - Robert L. Spencer. Robert passed (9) years prior and we believe she is with him again today, and happy. Dexta was preceded in death by her husband (Robert L. Spencer), her mother (Catherine “Elliott” Bartholomew), her father (Raymond Bartholomew) and her brother (Raymond Bartholomew). Dexta enjoyed the outdoors and traveling with her husband. Dexta also enjoyed sharing family vacations in the outdoors with her husband, children and grandchildren. Dexta had a great love for life and always made the holidays and birthdays a special and wonderful occasion for everyone. Dexta enjoyed drawing and painting and being with her family and friends. Dexta believed and loved her LDS Religion and had great faith in the beliefs of the church. Dexta is a beautiful lady and she will be so very missed by her family and friends. Dexta’s joyous personality will live in our hearts forever. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the Intermountain Medical Center Staff and Faculty, as well as the Staff and Faculty members from Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation Center. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart and Lung Institution at Intermountain Medical Center. Funeral services will be Friday, May 7, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Forest Bend Ward, 7784 Highland Drive. A viewing will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., and Friday morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
