Dorothy E. Barrow Obituary (1923 - 2014)

Dorothy Elna Jensen Barrow passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Salina, Utah to James C. and Emelia Rasmussen Jensen. She married Clyde G. Barrow February 13, 1947; he preceded her in death. Dorothy served in the United States Coast Guard from 1943-45. After her Coast Guard service, she attended Idaho State University. She was a longtime employee of Fernwood Ice Cream and Candy Company. Dorothy found her greatest joy in the service of others. She was always willing to give of her time, open her home, and contribute in any way she could to her family, friends, neighbors or anyone who might be in need. She loved her family above all else. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many church positions throughout her life. Survived by her son, Timothy Barrow (Denise); daughter, Becky Stephens; nephew, Stanley Bell (Ann); daughter-in-law, Karen Barrow; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; son, Kimball C. Barrow; and daughter-in-law, Donnetta Barrow. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray 10th Ward, 5750 South Nena Way (100 W.) with a viewing prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. An evening viewing will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
