Dylan Parker Obituary (1974 - 2019)

Our hero Dylan B. Parker passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer. We know he was welcomed home by his loving father. Born on April 26, 1974 in Murray, Utah to Hal Parker and RoseMarie Carter Parker. Dylan was one of two children. They were raised in Granite and Sandy, Utah. He spent several years working in the construction industry and gained a lot of experience. Shortly before getting married, Dylan worked hard to earn his General Contractors’ license. He started his business “DP Contracting” and continued to work and support his family throughout his battle with cancer. Dylan enjoyed fishing, camping and 4-wheeling with family. Dylan was an amazing fisherman. He said whenever his truck reached the point where he could see the lake, it always gave him “chills”. Dylan enjoyed fishing whether it was on a stream or a lake, in the sun or in the snow. A day of fishing was always a good day. He gave everything to be the best father and husband, always supporting his three young children by going to games, helping them practice, watching many performances and attending school events and award ceremonies. Dylan was a gifted baseball player. He was also very good at basketball and those athletic skills now shine on within his children. Dylan brought joy to our lives for being the most wonderful man, husband and father. Dylan is survived by wife Heidi (Harmer) Parker, children Alexis, Weston, and Sage Parker, sister Jennifer Parker, uncles Lyle (Carole), Ken, Jeff (Lyle), aunts Emily (John) Timmins, Nancy (Sam) Olsen. He was preceded in death by Father Hal Parker, Mother RoseMarie Carter Parker, Grandfather Sheldon “Bud” Parker, and Grandmother Mary Blair Parker. “It is often in the darkest skies that we see the brightest stars”. Dylan always believed he could beat cancer. He had more will than anyone we know. He was so courageous, strong and brave. We will forever look up to him. We will use his admirable example of strength to lift us up. His passing leaves us devastated but eternally grateful to have been blessed to know him. Our family thanks his caregivers at Utah Cancer Specialists. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley (1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah 84095) at 11 am. Inurnment will be at Granite Cemetery (2985 E 9800 S, Sandy, UT 84092). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any Cypress Credit Union under the name “Dylan Parker Donation Account”.
