Click HERE to view Services for Erin Bell On December 17, 2020, in the presence of family, God called home a blessed daughter, dear friend, and beloved sister, Erin Lark Bell. Born to Norman and Gloria Bell on February 10, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah, Erin was the youngest of three children and spent her early years studying and learning. Her mother always encouraged her to excel in her studies, which she did. Her many talents included being an accomplished pianist, a clarinetist, a Dungeons and Dragons gamer, and a beautiful writer – a gift which she inherited from her mother and shared with her brother, Justin, and niece, Hilary. Graduating from South High School as valedictorian and sterling scholar in English, Erin went on to complete two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Utah in Psychology and Women’s Studies, before becoming an alum of Stevens Henager College in medical assisting and surgical technology. She excelled in the medical field and also volunteered in the community, until the calling of caretaker for her mother drew her from the workforce and pursuit of further study. Kind-hearted, intelligent and blessed with a tender spirit, Erin’s selfless calling became caring for her mother and father until their passings. Erin developed an everlasting bond with her mother, who was the center of her world and truly grieved the loss of her soulmate for the 5 years she was gone. From an avid reader of fantasy novels to fishing, Erin enjoyed many simple pleasures as long as she was able to share them with her family. Some of her fondest memories included annual camping trips each year to Joe’s Valley with her family and cousins. Fishing with her father and only niece, Hilary, led to many cherished moments and great catches. Staying home to watch old movies all night with her mother brought insightful discussions, many laughs, and forged an eternal bond. She shared a passion for all things Star Wars with her brother, Justin, before his passing. For over 20 years, Erin, her mother, her sister, Holly, and her niece, would travel to the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City where they enjoyed many an unforgettable annual trip together. Her love of Shakespeare was something that she shared with her brother, who passed when she was only 25 years old; they were great friends and she mourned his passing the rest of her life. Another deep passion of Erin’s was the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and enjoyed teaching relief society and associating with members of the Cannon 4th Ward. She frequently studied scriptures and developed a profound love and faith in Jesus Christ. Upon her parents’ deaths, Erin moved in with her sister and family, but her purpose had left the earth. She struggled to find meaning in life and had lost her way, but her ever-tender heart still shone. Life became a difficult road for her to journey, even with the support of family, and when she became ill just two days before her passing, her spirit knew it was destined to reunite with those she loved and profoundly missed up above. Overjoyed to be in the arms of her mother, father and brother, as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles, Erin’s passing was peaceful and joyful. Erin will be remembered for her love of reading, her deep intellect and the gentle love she showed those she cared for with all her heart. Erin is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Bell, her father, Norman Bell, and older brother, Justin Bell, along with grandparents, aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister, Holly Heffron, brother-in-law, Ken Heffron, and niece, Hilary Heffron. A small family gathering will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home at 1007 W South Jordan Parkway (10600 South) on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 12:30 pm, to share memories and celebrate Erin’s life. Interment will be at the West Jordan City Cemetery at 7925 South 1300 West at 2:00 pm. Friends, family and loved ones can share thoughts on the Tribute Wall.
