Erma Nash Pearson Obituary (1914 - 2007)

On March 8, 2007, the final patch of a life long quilt was stitched for Erma Nash Pearson. The pattern pieces of her quilt centered around her family, church and friends. She was born to Oliver H. and Agnes Elenor Francom Nash in Salem, Utah on May 28, 1914. Her mother died at a young age and she was raised by Edith H. Nash. She married the love of her life, Leland O. Pearson in 1931. She was preceded in death by her eternal partner Leland, and their son Lynn. She missed them greatly and always looked forward to seeing them again. Erma was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. She enjoyed serving as Primary President and in the Relief Society. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Every member of the family received a special gift in the form of a handstitched quilt. She cherished the time spent visiting with neighbors and friends, canning and cooking, and tending to her garden, especially her beautiful roses. She is survived by her four children Beverly P. Bridges, Leland D. Pearson, Paul K. (Linda) Pearson, and Dennis R. (Kaylene) Pearson, brother Virl Nash, eleven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, niece Karen Rynearson, and special friends Gwen Lietch and Millie Davis, and John Hartzell Her husband, son, son-in-law, father, mother, step-mother, five brothers and three sisters; John Oliver Nash, George Nash, Floyd Nash, Neldon Nash, Orvin Nash, Agnes Josephine Nash, Florence Rynearson and Pearl Nash all went ahead of her and she was looking forward to the day that she would be reunited with them. The family would like to thank the staff at Cottonwood Creek Retirement Center, Summit Home Health and Becky Price, St. Mark’s Family Medicine and Dr. Seth B. Wallace. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m.on Monday, March 12, 2007 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S.). Family and friends may call from 10:00-12:00. Interment will be at the Salem City Cemetery.
