Ethel Elane Wright Tweddle Foy Obituary (1912 - 2009)

“Granny” Ethel Elane Wright Tweddle Foy passed away on November 17, 2009 at the age of 97. Elane was born on February 28, 1912 to William Daniel Wright and Partine Feroben in Pioneer, Lousiana. She married Roy Earl Tweddle on June 15, 1930 at Rayville, Louisiana. Following his death, she married Rudolph Foy. Elane was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved animals and taking trips to the mountains. She had a strong belief in God and Christ. She will be remembered fondly for her outspoken and impish personality and her distinctive Southern drawl. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Gaye Tweddle Millet; her grandchildren, Gay (Brent) Johanson, Darwin (Annette) Millet, Daniel (Kris) Millet, Benjamin (Debbie) Millet, David Millet, Stephen (Mary) Millet, Joseph (Rejane) Millet; 29 great grandchildren; and 24 great great grandchildren. Special thanks to Hillside Rehab and Silverado Hospice for their kind care. Preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; sister, Irene “Mupsy” Richbourg; and pets, Benji and Casey whom she also considered her children. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary in Murray (4760 So. State Street), where a viewing will take place from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment follows at Murray City Cemetery.
