Evan Winslow Lee Obituary (1922 - 2010)

Evan Winslow Lee, 88, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Phoenix, Arizona on November 12, 2010. He was born on August 11, 1922 to LaFayette and Pearl Lee in Hinckley, Utah. Evan graduated from Granite High School and attended the University of Utah. He served in the U. S. Army at the end of WWII and served a mission to The Netherlands and two missions with his wife; the Laotian Branch in Salt Lake City and returned to The Netherlands. He married Marie C. Lee on September 18, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children Pearl and Evan C. Evan worked for the elevator department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and later was self-employed as a master electrician until the age of 80. As an active member of the church he was in various callings throughout his life. He enjoyed being a “historian” in recording music and talks in church meeting for members of his ward. He is survived by his wife Marie, daughter, Pearl (Victor), daughter-in-law, Leoma (Darrell), 8 grandchildren, Jon-Paul, Jeremy, Phillip, Evan R. (Candice) Stacie (Dan, Cindy (Jason), David and Scott, 7 great grandchildren, Tristin, Evan T., Ava, Danielle, Gavin, Trenton and Colton. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters and son Evan Copier Lee. Funeral services will be held at the Ridgedale Ward (3400 So. 1100 East) on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. There will be viewings held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State, Murray, Utah, Wednesday, Nov. 17th 6:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Ridgedale Ward prior to funeral. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
