Florence A Kiisel Webster Obituary (1935 - 2017)

Florence A Kiisel Webster was born April, 16th 1935 in Murray, Utah to Cora Elizabeth Clair and Arnold W. Kiisel. She grew up in Sandy and Castledale, Utah, sometimes fostered by extended family. She was sealed to Ralph Burrows and her mother Cora, and was parented later in life by Ida Burton Burrows. She was a proud alumna of Jordan High School. She married Marlen Phillip Webster in 1953 and together they had nine children: Kellie Ann Warner Webster, Kevin Wesley Webster, Wade Hyrum Webster, Michelle Webster Reber, Barry Mitchell Webster, Cathrine Marlyn Webster Hall, Suzanne Webster, Jennifer Webster, and Rebecca Lynne Webster. She worked many years as a legal secretary for Strong and Hanni. She was preceded in death by her husband Marlen, her mothers Cora and Ida, her fathers Arnold and Ralph, siblings Arthur Kiisel and Linda Davis. She was survived by her siblings Ron Burrows, Ray Burrows, Bill Whitley, Kay Eager, and Julia Rodgers. Florence was an extraordinary person. She was honest, kind, compassionate, intelligent, and dependable and funny. She loved her savior Jesus Christ and faithfully served in various calling including Relief Society president, Primary President, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. Florence was a person who did what was right without needing to be prompted. As a child, Florence would walk herself and her siblings to church. She loved, and respected her parents and strived to be a good daughter. She loved all of her siblings, whether related to her by blood or not. They were hers. She was a loving wife and mother. She and her husband Marlen loved and cared for each other throughout their marriage. They were loving and conscientious parents who raised their children to love God, each other, and to get a good education so that they could serve in the kingdom and their communities and to be good and honorable people. She loved all of her grandchildren, however they came to her. She gave all of them individual love and attention, even while raising her younger children and battling depression. Florence cared not just for her own family but for others as well. She carried money in her pocket so that she could give to the needy when asked. She not only bought meals for the hungry, but she ate with them and conversed with them and listened to their stories. Florence was a faithful friend, and maintained close and life-long friendships. She and Marlen met once a month for decades with a group of friends from the Sandy Second Ward who called themselves the "Happy Dinner Club." She made friends wherever she went. Strangers sensed the goodness and compassion in her and would seek her out and tell her of their heartaches and she would listen and give love and counsel. Toward the end of her life, as her health failed her, she longed to be reunited with her sweetheart Marlen and other beloved family members and friends. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 18th, 2017. She will be deeply missed by those left behind, but remain in hope of the resurrection. We love you, Momma. A viewing will be held Friday, April 21st, 2017 between 6 pm and 8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), South Jordan. A brief viewing will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 between 9:45 am and 10:45 am at the LDS Chapel on 275 E 10600 S, Sandy, followed by Funeral Services at 11 am.
