Gail R. Staley Obituary (1922 - 2006)

“Super Father and Grandfather” Gail R. Staley was called home peacefully September 24, 2006 to reunite with his loving wife and son. Born April 23, 1922 to Jesse Sylvester Staley and Clara Robinson Staley. He married Helen E. Bateman on September 8, 1941. Their family was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple May 17, 1956. She passed away on August 1, 2003. He had a great talent for creating inventions that made life more efficient and exciting. He built, from the ground up, his own home and mechanic garages. He made his livelihood repairing automobiles at 2nd West Garage for 44 years. He was the last survivor of his 11 siblings. He dearly loved his three children, seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Blaine) Marshall and Colleen Staley Virgin; daughter-in-law, Trudy Staley. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Staley. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
