Garland "Johnny" Percival Johnson, Jr. Obituary (1930 - 2018)

Our loving father, husband, and grandfather Garland Percival Johnson Jr. "Johnny" passed away peacefully at home on January 18th, 2018. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 10th, 1930. He married Betty Lou Dean Johnson on June 23rd, 1950. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and keen sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his only brother Ken, and daughter Cynthia. Survived by his loving wife Betty Dean Johnson and daughters, Linda Faye Walter (Tony) Patricia Lee Sparkman (David) and son James William Johnson. He was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. He played an active role in his church where he served countless callings. The family at this time would like to extend our love and thanks to Mike and Laura Lance, they started out as neighbors and have now become part of our family. They are the most giving and caring people you could ever ask for. We love you all. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valle Mortuary, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10400 South), South Jordan, Utah at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11:15am - 11:45am followed by a Family Prayer from 11:45am 12:00pm.
