Garrick Samuel Patton Obituary (2002 - 2018)

Garrick Samuel Patton, our beloved son and brother, returned to his Heavenly home on December 3, 2018. Garrick was born on August 18, 2002 in Sandy, Utah. He was the youngest of five sons. He brought so much love and joy into our family from the moment he was born. Garrick lived in Riverton, Utah his entire life. He attended Rose Creek Elementary, South Hills Middle, Riverton and Paradigm High Schools. He was a great student and an avid reader. Garrick took an interest in music and played both the French horn and saxophone and started learning the guitar. He also played recreational league soccer as a young boy and teenager. He loved animals – particularly Link, the family min-pin, and his pet lizard, Craig. He could always be counted on to wrangle the family chickens when they escaped their coop. Garrick was wise beyond his years, thoughtful, loving, caring, and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a quick wit and would often interject one-liners that would leave everyone in the family laughing. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and four wheeling. He also loved to ride his bike and would ride it no matter the weather. He enjoyed the cold so long as it was raining or snowing. He didn’t like summer because of the mosquitoes. Garrick was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his grandfather, Alan P. Christensen; parents, Steven E. and Janae Christensen Patton; brothers, Isaac, Michael, Mitchell, and Daniel Patton, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. It was a privilege to have Garrick in our lives and we will always love him. He can now find peace with our Savior Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father, and other loved ones who have preceded him in death; grandparents, Henry Edward and Margie McPhie Patton; grandmother, Arlene Howell Christensen; uncle, Douglas J. Christensen; aunt, Noemi “Amy” Valenzuela Christensen; cousin, Marcie Steed; and Link. A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10400 S.), South Jordan, UT on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm, The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Riverton 9th Ward Chapel on 2750 W. 13400 S., Riverton, UT with a viewing from 9:30–10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.), Sandy, UT.
