George E. Stone Jr. Obituary (1948 - 2020)

The world has lost a great man! George Stone passed away the evening of December 7, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. George was born in Kansas City, MO and was raised in Idaho Falls, ID. George had a huge heart, endless curiosity and when he was younger loved moving around from state to state taking in all that he could. Before moving to Utah, George had a variety of Jobs including driving a beer truck on the California and Oregon coast. He rode horses, dirt bikes, Harleys, loved old cars, his Jag and his dog Koda. When George decided to move to Utah and settle down so to speak, all the neighborhood kids would knock on his door whenever their bike had a flat tire because they knew he would drop everything to help them fix it. He was a man that you couldn't help but love and made many friends along the way. As he moved forward, he found a niche as a foodservice broker and opened Associate Marketing and Sales with his business partner Richard Jensen in 1993. George was a keen businessman who understood that relationships were the foundation of a successful business and he was very well liked throughout the industry. George fell in love with and married Kathy Stone in 2001, they blended their families together and became family. From family parties to long car road trips, Harley road trips, going to plays, out to dinner, drinking wine on the deck and just enjoying each other's company, their love was clear to everyone. He found comfort and peace with this marriage and settled comfortably into his role as "Papa", from teaching the grandkids how to ride bikes, fish and mow the lawn and Harley rides. He will be truly missed. One of George’s favorite sayings: IT IS EASY TO GO DOWN INTO HELL; NIGHT AND DAY THE GATES OF DARK DEATH STAND WIDE; BUT TO CLIMB BACK UP AGAIN, TO RETRACE ONE'S STEPS TO THE OPEN AIR, THERE LIES THE PROBLEM, THE DIFFICULT TASK Virgil: The Aeneid George is survived by his wife Kathy Stone, brother Randy Stone, children: Cattreena, Jeromy, Jennifer (Ryan), Cyrus (Sara) and Sharla. Grandchildren: Keelie, Ian, Colton, Cheyenne, Adele and Isla. Last but not least, his long haired German Shepherd Koda. Preceded in death by his mother Joan Bandell, Father George E Stone Sr. and eldest son Bret Bower. Due to the Pandemic, services will be delayed until it is safe for us to gather and remember this cherished man.
