“Jerry”\nJerry Westergard passed away on April 2, 2008 at his home in Cottonwood Heights, after a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer.\nJerry was born March 4, 1935 in Roberts, Idaho to Willard Westergard & Virginia King. His family moved to Salt Lake City when he was 3 yrs old. He was married 3 times – His 1st wife & mother of his children was Lois Jensen (Morgan). He later married Sandy Larsen. His 3rd wife, Deb Carney Westergard, has been his companion for the last 13 yrs. \nJerry loved life & lived it to the fullest. He loved boating & we have great memories of our trips to Lake Powell. He was also a pilot & loved the freedom of flying. He was also a member of the Salt Lake Motorcycle Escort Service for several years.\nHe worked at IML & PST Vans as a diesel mechanic for many years. And, during the last 10 years prior to his illness, he had a business transporting boats & trucks across the country. \nJerry is survived by his wife; his children, Sheri (Randy) Staten, Jerry (Cyndi) Westergard, Jeff Westergard, and Brenda (Mark) Van Leeuwen; 14 grandchildren; & 6 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother, Wilford (Louise) Westergard); his sister, Sara (Bill) Hickey; and many nieces & nephews.\nAt his request, Jerry will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel located at 4760 S. State Street, Murray, UT. The family will receive guests for one hour prior to the service.\nA graveside service will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S.\nJerry’s family would like to extend thanks to Dr. J.
