Hal M Parker Obituary (1950 - 2018)

Hal M. Parker passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2018. Born on January 30, 1950 in Murray, Utah to Sheldon F. “Bud” and Mary Blair Parker. Hal is survived by son Dylan (Heidi) Parker, daughter Jennifer Parker, brothers Lyle (Carol), Ken (Sonja), Jeff (Lyle), sisters Emily (John) Timmins, Nancy (Sam) Olsen, grandchildren Alexis Parker, Weston Parker, Sage Parker, and dear friend Michelle Black. Hal was the 5th of 6 children. Raised in Granite, Utah in a log home built by his father in 1943. He married Rosemarie Carter in 1973. They later welcomed two children. Hal raised these two children as a single father. He worked for Timberline Construction and then later retired from Salt Lake County Public Works. Hal was a gifted musician, had a niche for wood carving, enjoyed fishing, had a love for softball and baseball, was an artist and eccentric to the end. He brought joy to our lives for being the most wonderful man and grandfather. He never missed the opportunity to watch and support his grandchildren. He went to every game, school event, and performance. “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I wound not have to destroy it…” Ezekial 22:30. Hal was that man who would put himself before others and always stood up for family and friends. His passing leaves us devastated but eternally grateful to have been blessed to know him. Close friends and family gathered on Saturday to share memories and honor his life.
