Our precious wife, mother, and grandmother Helen Anderson Berrett, 79, was reunited with her loved ones on the other side when she passed away suddenly on March 9, 2017. Helen was born on August 18, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Monroe Anderson and Jessie Marie Stone. Raised in Union, Utah, Helen graduated from Jordan High School in 1955 having acquired a lifelong love of learning and several enduring friendships. Helen married her high school sweetheart Enniss ElRay Berrett in the Salt Lake Temple on April 20, 1956. Helen inherited a strong work ethic from her parents and deployed it tirelessly in her home, in service to others, and in her career as an executive assistant in the insurance industry.
With her devoted companion of over 60 years, Helen raised four children who were her greatest source of joy. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with happiness. Helen's love, support, and advocacy for her family was boundless. She showered her family with unconditional love, praise, and encouragement.
Helen was a thoughtful student of the scriptures with a gift for teaching. Her busy hands never tired in giving service to others, including angelic eldercare of her parents and aunt. She held many church callings but particularly loved teaching gospel doctrine and serving her neighbors as Relief Society President on three separate occasions. She was a temple worker and enjoyed volunteering as a docent at the Church History Museum. She will be remembered for her giving heart, her love of family, and her deep love of the Savior.
Helen is survived by her loving husband Enniss; four children Debbie (Ben) Millet, Rob (Estella) Berrett, Holly (Karl) Foster, Shaun (Bonnie) Berrett; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother Robert (Connie) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Chevy Chase Ward located at 5235 South Wesley Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the same location, and again just prior to Thursday's service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Rd, Sandy, Utah.
