Jack Merrick Obituary (1926 - 2007)

“See ya for potty & cornflakes” Jack Merrick passed away December 30, 2007 in a local hospital due to a short unexpected illness. Born August 7, 1926 to Haskel & Hilda Merrick. Jack served in World War II on the USS John Rodgers. He was self-employed in his own security service for over 40 years working 7 days a week until he retired in 1987. Married Irene Komis March 11, 1947 who was the love of his life, always his bride. Survived by his wife; Irene and three children; Gary, Sharon & Diane. He also had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and one sister; Darlene Gray. Preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers & 1 sister; Dick, Bob, Art Merrick & Jewell Knighton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, where friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008 and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the Mortuary. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
