Jacki Mickelson Obituary (1940 - 2018)

Murray, Utah – Our beloved wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, Jacki Mickelson, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2018. She was born on February 5, 1940, to Lewis Devon and Ellen Glazier Jackson in Kanab, Utah. She married the love of her life, Jesse H. Mickelson, on July 18, 1959 in Kanab, Utah; later solomized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three beautiful children: Rick (Leslie) Mickelson, Debbi (Bruce) Moffitt, and Ryan (Becky) Mickelson. Jacki was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many callings throughout her life. Her biggest calling was supporting her husband as he served as Bishop of the Murray 17th Ward. Mom loved sewing and crafting, but most of all she loved supporting her family. She has spent many hours at the racetrack and ballpark supporting her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandson. She loved the outdoors and spent many hours camping with her family. Later in life she loved wintering in Yuma, Arizona with her loving husband and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ellen; father, Devon, brother; John; and brother, Eddie. She is survived by her husband, Jess; son, Rick (Leslie); daughter, Debbi (Bruce); and son, Ryan (Becky); grandchildren: Courtney (Tracy), Greg (Kelsey), Derrick (Heather), Monica (Ivan), Ashlee, Christopher, and Marc; great-grandchildren: Peyton, Livi, Emily, Katelyn, Jess, Claire, and Gus. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the Murray Brownstone LDS Chapel located at 6410 South 725 East, Murray, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah, and on January 20, 2018 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, UT.
